Okay,so my husband gets really excited about things sometimes... When he gets interested in something he gives it his all. Perhaps that is why he is so successful~ He jumps on the soap box with all of his heart and soul... his frugal soul. This time he cracked me up...
So lately it is using coupons. He is the newest member to all the money saving websites~ couponmom.com and afullcup.com to name a few. He is really into shopping at Publix when they have their buy one get on free things going on... oh and the mystery item!!!!! Hold on Nelly!!!! I think he might jizz in his pants over the 1 cent peanut butter!
So today he had all of his coupons handy and was off to Publix to bring home the bacon~ and tons of cereal. We probably have enough cereal for like a year, no lie. Good thing I like Cinnamon Toast Crunch b/c we have a shit load of it. Anyhow, he came home with all the groceries and couldn't wait to tell me how much he saved. He pulled out the receipt with the biggest smile on his face, as if he had gotten straight A's on his report card. He bought $110 of stuff for $45~ pretty good huh? He is definitely a better shopper than me. Of course he doesn't have Ryder to pacify while shopping. Usually I"m trying to feed him a whole bag of goldfish or dig a toy out of my purse to amuse him for a total of 1 minute~ long enough to decide which hamburger helper sounds the best! Yeah, so it's easier to concentrate on what you are doing and coordinate coupons to whats on sale if you don't have toddler who I think might have a small case of ADHD~ not really but that is what it feels like sometimes. He definitely has issues with being restrained in high chairs, strollers and carts.
Anyways... onto the funny part of my sexy mans grocery trip. So he comes in and puts the grocery bags down. I proceed to start unpacking them and he goes... "Wait, don't put them up I want to take a picture of them." "What?" I say as I almost wet my pants b/c I'm laughing so hard. (compliments of Ryder... I never almost peed my pants before having a baby!) I say, "You want to take a picture of them?" Ya'll, I"m not lying he arranged all of the groceries on the kitchen table like they were his rodeo trophies he won in high school! It was so cute to see him so excited about his accomplishment. He took the picture to put on his website about a new thing he's doing on free coupons?? Pretty funny to watch.
Anyhow, it was a good laugh for me! Really though, I am so thankful and proud he has taken an initiative to help me out with shopping. Even though he brought me home an $11 hairdryer... who knew CVS made hairdryers? I would have atleast liked a Conair or something. He said I was a "hair dryer snob." Oh well... I think he is trying to make up for my $120 highlights. Thanks baby for all you are doing to help out. I love you!!!!
